Monel Screws are usually manufactured using Monel 400 or Monel K500 alloys. Monel 400 contains 63% nickel and 30–34% copper, providing tensile strength of 70–80 ksi, whereas Monel K500 contains additions of aluminum and titanium, providing strength up to 160 ksi. Both forms have superior resistance against corrosion in seawater and chemical media. Monel Screws also show good ductility, non-magneticity, and stress-corrosion cracking resistance. Their mechanical performance is maintained between subzero and 900°F temperatures, for which they are suitable for harsh structural and sealing applications.
