Duplex Steel Washers are usually made from grades such as 2205 (UNS S31803/S32205), with a double microstructure of roughly equal austenite and ferrite phases. They contain 22% chromium, 5-6% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and 0.15-0.20% nitrogen in their composition. This combination offers superior resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Mechanically, they have high yield strength (usually 450-485 MPa) and high tensile strength (620-655 MPa), much higher compared to normal stainless steels.
