Duplex Steel Screws are usually made of alloys such as UNS S31803 (2205) or UNS S32205. They have a balanced austenitic-ferritic microstructure with compositions approximately 22% chromium, 5-6% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and nitrogen. This gives them excellent pitting resistance to chlorides, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. They also possess good mechanical properties, including high tensile strengths (e.g., 620-655 MPa), high yield strengths (450-485 MPa), and ductility, compared to conventional stainless steels.
