Duplex Steel Bolts 2205 (UNS S31803/S32205) consist of about 22% chromium, 5-6% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and 0.15% nitrogen, having a microstructure composed of about equal proportions of austenite and ferrite. This composition gives them outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. They have very high tensile strength (minimum 620 MPa), high yield strength (minimum 450 MPa), and good ductility, superior to the usual austenitic stainless steels.
