Stainless Steel 317/317L Fasteners contain approximately 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum, with low carbon content in 317L to improve weldability and reduce carbide precipitation. They provide tensile strengths around 515–620 MPa and excellent ductility. The enhanced molybdenum increases resistance to chloride-induced corrosion, acid attack, and sulfide stress cracking. 317L’s low carbon ensures better performance in welded assemblies without compromising strength. These fasteners maintain their mechanical integrity in temperatures up to 870 °C (1,600 °F).
